l'affresco fa parte del ciclo che raffigura la storia della vita di san pietro . entrambi gli eventi raffigurati in questo affresco sono raccontati negli atti degli apostoli : la guarigione dello storpio a gerusalemme e l'innalzamento di tabitha a joppa . Masolino imposta entrambi gli eventi nella stessa città , anche se in realtà avevano avuto luogo in diverse città e in momenti diversi . Questo dettaglio mostra due personaggi elegantemente vestiti , al centro della scena , che separano ma forniscono anche il collegamento tra i due eventi miracolosi . La presenza di queste figure fa apparire i due eventi come normali eventi quotidiani nella vita di una città .
